Other Organizations

There are many organizations that are actively fighting against oligarchs, fundamentalists, and tyrants.  If you want to join like-minded people in your area or be part of a national movement, here are some of your options. 

1. Indivisible


Description: A nationwide progressive grassroots movement that began in 2016, focusing on defeating right-wing agendas, electing progressive leaders, and promoting progressive policies.


2. Highlands Resistance


This is a local Indivisible group that meets in Ringwood.  


3. Our Revolution


Description: A progressive political organization that emerged from Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign, supporting progressive candidates and ballot measures across the country.


4. MoveOn


Description: A people-powered progressive organization focusing on electing progressive leaders, fighting for universal healthcare, and supporting social justice movements.


5. JOLT Ridgewood 


Description: To  JOIN together and use our power as citizens to effect change. To ORGANIZE to advocate for issues which we deem to be essential. To inspire others to LEAD in their communities, to reach out to neighbors, friends and strangers, and to unite for a better America. To TEACH the meaning and implications of legislation, gerrymandering, voting rights, the judicial system, and attacks on democracy


6. Working Families Party


Description: A organization dedicated to building their own party on top of the two-party system in the United States. They organize and recruit  candidates to run up and down the ballot 


7. People Power United

Description: People Power United champions progress and power to the people.

We are a group of people who believe in the possibility of change and work to make it happen.

Description: We want to replace our toxic “us vs. then” culture with one of curiosity, compassion, courage and creative innovation 


10. North New Jersey Democratic Socialists of America

Building democratic socialism in the Garden State.

11. Ample Harvest


Description: AmpleHarvest.org is a nationwide non-profit that uses technology to educate and enable the estimated 61 million  Americans who grow food in home and community gardens to easily donate their surplus harvest to one of 8,297 registered local food pantries spread across all 50 states.
