My Values
Hard Work- I am a small business owner. When I started out, I had to clean restaurants and bars in the early mornings, work all day as a contractor, and work four nights a week as a waiter to make ends meet. I want to put that same work ethic to use on the West Milford Town Council.
Professional Experience- I have worked on multi- million dollar public projects as a subcontractor where I was responsible for using specifications and plans from architects to find cost- effective, long term solutions. I have also designed all natural water filtration systems for ponds and aquaponic growing systems.
Local politicians are responsible for local decisions. Discussions of decisions made on the State and National Level can be divisive in local politics. Keeping rhetoric on the topic of West Milford is imperative.
Brian Zlotkin moved to West Milford in 2017 with his then fiance Jessica Costa. The 1930’s log cabin was barely habitable and Brian slept on the floor for the first two weeks until he had renovated it enough for her to join him and the pair worked hard together to create the home they love today.
Brian, who will have turned 38 years old by the November election, earns his living with his hands and his mind. He decided to start his own business in 2015 building aquaponic systems. Several years later, Brian started his second company in the decorative concrete field. He operates both today.
Now, Brian Zlotkin spends his free time hunting, fishing, gardening, volunteering, and hiking the trails of West Milford with Jessica and their beloved dog, Stella. During the winter “off season” Brian is a youth skiing coach.
