The West Milford Democratic Club and Municipal Committee work together to serve the residents of our town by campaigning in elections, advocating for causes, participating in government, and sponsoring acts of public service.
Our members are ordinary people who love our town and want to make life better for everyone, economically, ecologically, and even socially.
We endeavor to unite people around common causes, tackle the real issues in our community, and represent all residents in our government.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure we have an inclusive and fair democracy where everyone thrives.
We meet the fourth Wednesday of the month at different members' homes. Please sign up for meeting locations and times.

The West Milford Democratic Municipal Committee invites civic‑minded residents to step forward as candidates for the two Township Council positions up for election this November. Our goals are to give voters a choice at the ballot box, broaden representation, and inject fresh ideas into our local government.
The committee is especially interested in candidates who listen well, work respectfully with others, and focus on practical solutions to everyday local concerns. Prior elected experience is not required. We welcome first-time candidates with a strong commitment to the community.
Prospective candidates are asked to submit a letter of intent that briefly explains why they want to serve and what relevant experience or skills they bring to the role, along with a current resume for review.
Legal qualifications:
18 years of age or older
Registered voter
Resident of West Milford for a year or more
Those interested in serving or wanting to learn more can send their information or inquiry to info@westmilforddemocrats.org before Friday, February 13th.
West Milford First Initiative
West Milford First is a CPC (Continuing Political Committee) with the purpose of putting a referendum on the ballot to return West Milford's government to a non-partisan, ward system.
While this is not a Democratic initiative and the CPC is chaired by a Republican and Democrat, we do support this effort. We believe a one-party system only encourages corruption and abuses of power.
